Telerehabilitation and mobile health apps provide promise for the future of rehabilitation services. This article states, "The authors’ findings that “rehabilitation using a mobile phone application has shown good levels of adherence to the treatment plan” offers opportunities for PTs and PTAs." Will this be the same in pediatrics? #pediatricphysicaltherapy #pediatricoccupationaltherapy #speechlanguagepathology #digitalhealth

It amazes me how the four physical parts of our brain can negotiate how we approach life, even in the event of a stroke, where one side, the emotional side can take a leave of absence, leaving the other to carry on a binary system (1+1=2) which is no fun. It’s awesome to know that we can re-establich that ‘state’ back within our brain to get the balance we need to embrace life and our relationships with what surrounds us.It's indeed fascinating how our brain's structure and function allow for such adaptability and resilience. The human brain is divided into two hemispheres, each with specialized functions, yet they work together seamlessly. In the event of a stroke, which often affects one hemisphere, the brain's ability to compensate and reorganize its functions is remarkable. The left hemisphere is generally associated with logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and language, while the right hemisphere is linked to creativity, intuition, and emotional processing. When a stroke impairs one side, the brain's plasticity enables the other hemisphere to take on additional roles, helping the individual to regain lost functions over time.Neuroplasticity, the brain's ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections, plays a crucial role in recovery. Rehabilitation therapies, cognitive exercises, and sometimes even lifestyle changes can help stimulate this process, allowing individuals to regain a balanced approach to life and relationships. This adaptability underscores the brain's incredible capacity to heal and the importance of a supportive environment in facilitating recovery. What are your thoughts on this fascinating fact, which affects all of us?
